# Self-hosted character data

These 12 unmodified JSON character data files are copied from the published
`hanzi-writer-data` npm package, version **2.0.1**, by David Chanin.

Data is derived from the Make Me a Hanzi project and Arphic fonts.
The data is distributed under the **Arphic Public License**; the complete
upstream license is included as `ARPHICPL.TXT` in this directory.

The Hanzi Writer JavaScript library is separately licensed under MIT.
Data is served from this app's `/hanzi/` path; no CDN is used at runtime.
`manifest.json` records the SHA-256 and stroke/median counts of the vendored files.
